Ok, I've been trying to get at the vger cvs sources, with zero luck.
It points me to cvs.on.openprojects.net, which in some cases - doesn't
exist any more. I've been getting different errors at different times.
Does anyone know what is going on with
the ppc kernel sources?

I'd like to ask the powers that be for CVS repository access.
I currently am employed (my day job) by a company that makes
RM7000-based single-board computers. MonteVista has already done
quite a bit of work to port linux to these boards, and we're
interested in continuing development and improving support for our
product line. I understand that the CVS repository is the best place
to go for the latest material.
I'm also an experienced kernel developer. I'm the author and
maintainer of the USB Mass Storage driver for linux. So I'm not just
another corporate weenie who doesn't understand open-source. :) I
actually do this because I like to.
The web pages and FAQs suggest that this is the right place to ask for
access... is there anything I'm missing?

I tried to access the CVS repository and I can not resolve the name
cvs.infradead.org. Has the repository moved? Is there an IP that I could use
if the problem is name resolution?

Where from?
$ host cvs.infradead.org
cvs.infradead.org is an alias for phoenix.infradead.org.
phoenix.infradead.org has address 194.205.184.45

I am in Southern CA. The internet/DNS services is DirectvInternet DSL.
PS: What is the difference between the CVS and BitKeeper repositories? Which
is the best place to get the source? (BitKeeper hosted repository)

Use CVS. I don't keep the BK tree up to date.
