Because many have asked...

I ran Unix Bench 4.1 the right way (in single user mode with nothing
else running) with a modified 2.4.2-2 kernel. By modified I mean it more
fully supports my IDE controller, my AGP controller, and my PCI bridge
where the other kernels (at the time) did not.
