Hi All,

I have a 1mb internet link and a linux g/w, I have done bandwidth
management on linux Red Hat, I have alloted 512k for http traffic and
the rest 512k for other purposes. Is there any windows based desktop
tool which can help me view what b/w I have alloted and for what
purpose.
Any info on this please let me know.

You could run ntop with web mode enabled on the linux machine and then
view the results in your browser on the windows machine.
mrtg would not be of much help as it will only show you aggregate usage in
this case.

... ciao:

before you use ntop, you might want to do a search of
'securityfocus.com' for information on 'REMOTELY' generated segfaults.

as an aside. ntop , if i recall correctly , demands the inspected
interface to operate in promiscuous mode. if that the case, and ntop
doesn't provide some level of security for it, i'd be real nervous about
using it 'all' the time ...
