Hi,
My syslogd is consuming 90 % cpu. What is going on? Can anybody take
trouble to explain?
Thanks in advance
Seshu

And it's still running?
Kill it manually and then you will have to fix it: something is corrupt.
Check the man files on syslogd (man syslogd)
Certain releases of operating systems have know bugs, this would have been
a good time to include the distribution and version of your OS.
Check available file space "df -vh", is /var or /tmp dangerously low or
out of space?
Don't forget to read the man files, there is a lot of debug info in there.
Good luck
Scott.
