Thanks guys for taking the time to explain LILO. And apologizes to Chuck---
I thought you were a Ham (nc8q)....so assumed you knew what 'fb' meant. It means 'fine business'. Myself and other 'Hams' who communicate via 'CW' (morse code) use abbreviations for certain words or phrases.
Agn, mni tnx es cul
Again, many thanks and see you later

Hello Adrian-
I do sometimes use digital modes ie: Psk31, Hellschreiber, RTTY and SSTV, but not with Linux. I know there are some programs for psk, rtty and I think sstv that are for linux users. I tried a few of the Psk programs, but could never get them to recognize my soundcard. So I continue to use all of them except psk with Dos. From what I understand, Mandrake is perfect for PSK. In fact someone from a Madison Wis. LUG gave me a cpy of Mandrake 9.0 and the latest version of KDE to try PSK31. But like I said, I could never get it working right.

Howdy, Neil & Adrian:

IMHO:
This topic would be more appropriate on
'linux-hams' than 'linux-newbie'.

Apologizes to the list about the Ham radio q/a
A google search for cw/morse abbreviations would be a good start.
Email me direct for more info.
Cheers
