Hi Norm and Claudia,
If Shawn and Charles (and other HP folks) do not travel, due to HP
policy (which Bob Taylor advised us at PWG SM telecon might get bent
on a case-by-case basis), we have a severe shortage of discussion
leaders for the various FSG OP sessions.
While plane tickets are generally non-refundable, it's unlikely
that waiting to the last moment will make the cancellation charges
for the meeting rooms and other facilities cheaper.
FSG OP is morally bound to cover those hotel cancellation charges.
I suggest that a revised agenda of discussion leaders who _think_
they will travel to Washington, DC is necessary for FSG OP to avoid
this cancellation. And there is also the issue of a "quorum", if
very few FSG OP people will be travelling to Washington, DC.
Cheers,
- Ira McDonald
High North Inc
PS - I personally am not travelling to Washington, DC - no funds.

I was also under the impression that we were going to wait and see.
Until I see a cancelation notice (or Sun restricts travel, which they
haven't), I am planning on attenting.

FWIW, since I am only an hour or so away I will still be attending,
assuming that it isn't cancelled and nothing happens in DC...
(Personally, it would be a shame if it *did* get cancelled, as most
of the PWG meetings involve a lot of travel to relatively expensive
cities... This is the first meeting I've had a chance to attend!)

I just spoke with Harry Lewis and he said that during the PWG meeting this
morning they were told that FSG is canceling out of the DC meeting. I was
under the impression from this morning's FSG meeting that although some
companies were not allowing their people to travel, individuals from other
companies were in a "wait and see" mode. So based on this, I understood
that FSG was NOT canceling at this point.
Did I misunderstand what we discussed? Could someone please clarify what it
was we decided to do?
