Has anyone attempted to get SE Linux running on a Compaq DL-360 server?
I have been trying to get SE Linux running on said machine and have been 
having deficulty.  Specifically, while RH 7.3 runs fine, a kernel build 
based on the installed kernel with the SL Linux modules loaded (without 
the MLS at this point) fails to boot.  What I get is kernel panic when 
the boot sequence gets to the point where the OS attempts to mount the 
SCSI drives.  I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers from 
Compaq to no avail.  The DL-360 uses a proprietary SCSI/RAID system.  
Whether I have the RAID going or not, SE Linux dies in the same place in 
the boot sequence with the same kernel panic.

Can you boot a non-SE kernel you compiled?

You say "SE Linux modules loaded", it's recommended that SE Linux be 
statically linked into the kernel not used as modules.

Please capture the panic, if it's an Oops then run it through ksymoops and 
post the results here, if it's some other crash message then just post the 
messages here.  The serial-port console support is a good way of capturing 
such boot messages.

Try getting it to boot with a floppy disk as the root device to eliminate RAID 
issues.

John, Russell is right here. We're using some of these machines at work
and I remember that they required some patches that redhat made. Your
problem may not be related to SELinux.

I'll ask someone at work tomorrow who set up the machines and shoot you
an off-list message.

Was the kernel able to mount the root filesystem?

Did the kernel panic include any text messages like "Cannot mount root"?

Reading your E-Mail, it is not very clear precisely when it crashes.

It seems that you are using a Compaq Intelligent Drive Array and you failed to 
either compile the driver into the kernel or put it on the initrd.

It's probably easiest for you to just compile the driver into the kernel.
