Dear all,
I 've a MPC8260 board with 2.4.18 kernel version and nfs root fs . First I
have configurated it with cpu_clock = 133 MHz, cpm_clock = 100 MHz and
bus_clock = 33 Mhz with good results.
Then I have changed this configuration with cpu_clock = 166 MHz, cpm_clock =
100 MHz and bus_clock = 33 Mhz with bad results.
With cpu clock at 166 Mhz I have several error but typically "Illegal
istruction " error message is send on the console.
I have checked the bus timing (memory read/write access) with no difference
rispect to cpu_clock at 133 MHz.
Can be a cache problem ?
Tanks to all,
Alessandro.

Hi all,
I have a T21 thinkpad Pentium III 800 MHz.
I have red hat 8.0 installed with kernel 2.4.18.
Executing cat /proc/cpuinfo I noticed that cpu speed is 212.51 MHz.
Looking at BIOS the speed is correct.
Any idea?
PS
Why am I continuosly unsubscribed from the kernel list?
Please cc me in the answer, currently I am not subscibed to the list (I
posted few minutes ago a new mail to majordomo).

Does this happen irrespective of whether you are plugged in to A/C power
at the time? Most laptops will go to lower speeds on battery (depending
on your setup in BIOS), and even if you plug in the power later,
/proc/cpuinfo is not updated. So please make sure you boot up with A/C
power and let us know if you see the same thing.
Thanks,
Rahul

Hi,
This steps are for you:
1. Go in bios setup
2. Select config/power
3. set to customized "power ac mode"
4. set to customized "power mode for battery"
5. set to fixed max processor speed
