We're working on a method to identify the systems that have the 24RF08
eeprom in them
so that we don't have to blacklist all IBM systems.
In the meantime, you may wish to verify that your system does not have
this chip
(look at the board, read server docs). While you're at it try to
identify
what chips are on the board that our package supports (see our FAQ too).
Then, if you are brave, edit the sensors-detect program
to bypass the check (you're in a sysadmin course, should be easy for
you...)
and try again. You should read the README.thinkpad file carefully first.
No promises that it won't destroy the server though.
Call it a learning experience.
And if it works you'll have a better report.
