Hello,

I've a couple of people using my snd-tvmixer module with success now,
and would appreciate comments/critcism/abuse (any thing is better than
the deathly silence my first announcement yeilded) from people more
experienced than myself.

   snd-tvmixer: http://www.gilfillan.org/ALSA/

In particular, I'd like to know what I may have missed in getting a Mute
Switch to show up in gnome-alsa-mixer.

It's rather confusing, because gnome-volume-control presents Mute
switches for all the controls, vol, bass, and treb, while
gnome-alsa-mixer presents none.

`amixer controls` does not show 'Master Switch' either.

I have yet to use the ALSA option in xawtv/motv, so at this point I can
say that the OSS emulation works great!!

If snd-tvmixer meets with approval, I'll start work on the snd-tvaudio
module this week :)

Thanks,

Perry

Looks nice. (Not that I actually have used it :)

Does it show up in alsamixer?
In /etc/asound.state after running "alsactl store"?

It does now :)

I had neglected to increase the TVMIXER_CONTROLS define when I added the
Mute Switch control.

Now I get other starange behaviour.

Right hand slider in gnome-volumecontrol has no effect.
(related) Balance slider in gnome-alsa-mixer is off center.
xawtv/motv only push volume up to 3% (other mixers work fine).

I'll have to go over the math again, and find out about the oss
emulation. Maybe it's time to look at xawtv/motv ASLA support status.

Thanks for the tip. `alsactl store` pointed me in the right direction!

Cheers,

Perry
