That's because QEMU doesn't get the release-alt event. Just press and
release alt.

I have noticed this on Mandrake host :
(print this email and follow it step by step)
1-I am in guest, with notepad for example.
2-CTRL+SHIFT to go to linux host.
3-CTRL+TAB to swith to another linux application
4-CTRL+TAB again to return to Qemu
5-CTRL+SHIFT to grab guest
=> the keyboard is lost. explanation : the virtual PC thinks that the ALT key
has been pressed (it hasn't been at all). if you press "F", you won't see a
"F" bur the file menu. To get the keyboard again, you have to press ALT key.

You're right, the corect manip is :

1-I am in guest, with notepad for example.
2-CTRL+SHIFT to go to linux host.
3-ALT+TAB to swith to another linux application
4-ALT+TAB again to return to Qemu
5-CTRL+SHIFT to grab guest
=> the keyboard is lost. explanation : the virtual PC thinks that the ALT key
has been pressed (it hasn't been at all). if you press "F", you won't see a
"F" bur the file menu. To get the keyboard again, you have to press ALT key.

So, the guest gets the ALT key even if Qemu has not the focus ? ?
