This is very unusual for Win3.1. How
exactly does it tell you that it wants
to reboot? AFAIK only some modern Windoses
like to reboot during install, while Win3.1
only asks you to reboot (optionally) when
the installation is completed. Your problem
might be elsewhere.

Win3.1 won't work on 1.3.1. You need CVS
HEAD to get it installing/running.

This one is strongly not recommended to
use with dosemu. Actually all 2.6 kernels
are not dosemu-ready yet (I still have a
bunch of patches to pass by Linus), but
<=2.6.5 are especially discouraged.

Hello,
after reading the nice news about the possibility to run Win 3.1 under dosemu,
I have started to try this also.
I have copied the win-disks on a CD and started from there the installation.
Unfortunately, after the second disk, the setup of Win 3.1 like to reboot the
computer. On this point ends my knowledge: how I can reboot the "computer"
and continue the setup?
I have already tried simple to switch off the dosemu box and again start
dosemu, but it do not work for me.
Any ideas?
I am using dosemu 1.31 and Kernel 2.6.5 on a AMD Duron processor.
Best regards
Bernhard

You are right. I have tried again. After the second disk the Windows setup
program has to be started (for disk 1 and 2 a dos-based setup is running).
This fails under dosemu 1.3.1 The mesasage with the reboot is only for this
case, if the windows setup fails (like in my case).

OK. I see, I have to read the manuals... :)

I have noticed this already. However, most of my DOS-application works (also
DPMI), but REBEL 12 , which was running under Kernel 2.4 now fails to run.
Probably because of the Kernel 2.6.5
I will make some additional tests within next time..

I have managed to download the actual CVS-version of dosemu and win 3.11
works fine! Thanks for the good work to the dosemu team.
For all who have problems with CVS: here is the way I get the actual version:
1. Install on you computer the CVS client.
2. Connect the computer to the internet
3.Open a xterm/console
4. Execute the following command:
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/dosemu \checkout dosemu
Now the actual source codes will be downloaded to your hard disk in a dosemu
folder.
At least I had success with this.
Best regards
Bernhard
