Probably, but I have never used 'tnos'.  S.T.F.W. (google)

I am not sure what your 'needs' are, however you mentioned 'mailbox',
and 'mail'.
'tnos' and 'f6fbb' are 'mailbox' programs and offer message/mail
  sending, receiving, and forwarding (automagically).

'linpac' is a terminal program.  It can connect your keyboard and
monitor to your TNC so you can communicate with 'tnos' or 'f6fbb'.

I am not sure about the 'whatever', but why do you want people
to do it in 'colorized format'.  Whether to use color or not
should be their preference, not yours ?!
