[Bluez-users] Bnep/Broadcast

Hi,

My question is conerning broadcast in a PAN. What if I got 2 slaves 
connected to master using 'pand --connect' and 'pand --listen' while 
sending IP broadcast messages from one of the slaves, will the messages 
be heard by both, the master and the slave node?

if they are configured correctly and if you use a bridge on the master
side there should be no problem with IP broadcasts.

if you don't bridge on the master you have two virtual networks cards,
named bnep0 and bnep1. How would you broadcast on two different devices?

...thank you for the answer marce. The reason I ask all this stuff is 
because I heard in Bluetooth is there is some pico-wide broadcast 
mechanism called ASB or Active Slave Broadcast and I wondered how this 
is mapped to Bnep.

there is no mapping. BNEP is point-to-point and then you use TCP/IP on
top of it.

received by both slaves?

from master (with a bridge) to the slaves should work fine. I am not
sure about the other way around, but I think this depends on the
configuration of your bridge.
