My soundcard does not work with the last 1.0.8 release of alsa (worked
fine with 1.0.7)
I have a Acer Aspire 1312 Laptop and the cars is detected as a via82xx

The driver for the modem got loaded before the ac97 driver. Please
make sure that your /etc/modprobe.conf or modules.conf contains index
options for both modules, e.g.:
options snd-via82xx index=0
options snd-via82xx-modem index=1
