xen-testing and redhat-cluster devel

Hi,

I'm using xen on two-node redhat cluster (CVS devel version), using lvm 
as storage backend.
redhat cluster is used to synchronize LVM metadata (using clvmd) and as 
storage
for domain configs and dom-U kernels (with gfs).

Latest version of redhat cluster works with xen-2.0.4, but not with 
xen-2.0-testing.
ccsd failed to start on 2.0-testing. Anyone knows what the problem is?

I assume most feature on 2.0-testing will eventually moved to 2.0-stable?
I'm satisfied with the current confuration, and I was hoping that future 
versions
of xen and redhat cluster will be able to coexist together.

I've no idea which changset is causing the problem. Perhaps you could
use BK to do a 'binary chop' to determine what the problematic one is?

Yes, it would be good to find out what the problem is before the 2.0.5
release.

My bet would be something TLS related. The only other example with this 
I have seen is multipathd which just doesn't run under xen, and even 
goes as far as segfaults gdb if you try to debug it.

I'm using gentoo, without nptl USE flag. Therefore, I don't even have 
/lib/tls :)
Anyway, it worked with xen-2.0.4, which is good,
but I'm worried that if -testing becomes 2.0.5 it will stop working.

Testing clvmd, testing xen, testing redhat cluster on gentoo, like 
living on the bleeding edge ;-).

What does gdb tell you about the ccsd backtrace?

I do, don't I :)
It's very promising though. If it works.
You'll have shared storage for all the virtual domains, which means xm 
migrate should work nicely.
It should work without clvmd, but I would have to reboot one node to 
synchronize LVM metadata each time I add
new LV. And redhat cluster does not say it have to be run on redhat 
systems :)

Actually you don't, you can not use clvmd and instead use a manual 
process of not letting anyone than you do any changes, and then just 
/etc/init.d/lvm restart/reload, or kill the lvm cache issue the lvm 
commands themselves.

A backtrace of where it crashes wouldn't hurt I think.
