I've not been keeping track -- how is USB doing on xen nowadays? I have a
laptop and being able to use a serial USB dongle would be handy.

Ron,

Basic USB should work on dom0 for both 2.4 and 2.6 kernels.

For domN access, there is existing support for 2.4 kernels.
(Not widely tested across the USB device universe..)

Harry Butterworth (he's out this week) is working on 2.6
support. Since there were significant changes in 2.6 USB
from 2.4, it isn't a trivial fwd port, and is necessitating
a more extensive rewrite. You can find his last status on
this here:

thanks,

USB seems to work fine generally and is enabled by default in 2.0.5.

Experimental support for USB virtualisation (i.e. allows guests to control
USB devices via a virtual root hub) is available in the unstable tree.
Currently this is for Linux 2.4 only (Harry Butterworth is doing some good
work on a 2.6 port).

HTH,
Mark
