Does any of you know anything about direct access to printer ports from
dosemu? I have an eprom programmer (Needhams EMP20) that i whant to use
under linux with either dosemu or cxoffice. As tested the program
emp20.exe runs fine under dosemu but the access to the parallell port is
not allowed. I've tried to set the $_port 0 "0x3bc" but that doesn't
work. Do you think this is possible?

I once even made dosemu use the parport api. Suppused /dev/parport is
accessible by you as a user and the corresponding modules are loaded and the
config connects the right parport interface to the right address, you should
be able to run as user and access the port. However I have not run dosemu for
a long time, so I don't know about the present state.
If you try to run the programm in wine/cxoffice and you find problems, first
run with WINEDEBUG=+int and ask me again with thw output of that programm.

Without the parport interface, you need to run as root for direct port
access.
