Hi,
I have seen several references to transparent compression being worked
on in ReiserFS, but nothing as solid as some code that could be
downloaded and used.
Is this feature available yet? Where could I download a patch for Linux?
Many thanks.
Gordan

This is also the feature I am waiting for a very long time - would be
great if a useable preview or something like this could be released.
Furthermore I hope ReiserFS will be soon integrated into the vanilla
kernel tree...
Thanks a lot for ReiserFS-4.0, its really great and very clear
designed. Very cool work!

I don't believe this is in place yet.
This question has been asked pretty frequently in the past few weeks --
perhaps it might make sense to note in the FAQ on www.namesys.com that
compression and encryption plugins aren't written/stable yet?

...and I should have known better than to post from my friend's machine
without verifying the "real name" he set for me at account creation.
If you're going to make a fool of yourself, you may as well get it right
I suppose.

Hi
I've read about ReiserFS's built-in compression, and I've been excited
about it for a long time, but haven't figured out how to activate it
yet. I've googled and looked on the reiserfs website, but couldn't find
any information on how to do it.
Can anyone please tell me how, or point me to the appropriate
documentation?
thanks
Jonathan

Step 1: Wait till the code is actually released.
I don't think Reiser-with-compression is a configuration that is
currently buildable by mere mortals at the current time.
