Greetings:
Of course, within minutes of sending my last message I found the
solution to my soundcard driver loading problem. I added an options line
to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base that included the isapnp=0 option, and at
last the driver loaded.
Now on to figuring out how to add the virmidi, pdaudiocf, and
midisport modules... :)
