Hi.
We tried 2.6.12.3-skas3-v8.2 on a host server. It kernel paniced (could
not capture the panic) after about 90 minutes. I'd tried a 2.6.12
skasv8.2 a week or so back on another server and got the same result.
2.6.11.12-skas3-v8.2 has been running fine for 20 odd hours.
Has anyone had success with 2.6.12 skas v8.2? If so I'd be interested
in a kernel .config. FWIW our hosts are dual xeons.
Regards, Peter

Peter,
I haven't tried 2.6.12. However, I'm now testing v8.2 with 2.6.13-rc4 on one
of our development machines. It's been running for 16 hours without issue.
This is a dual Opteron system running a 32-bit kernel. Have you tried a
vanilla 2.6.12.3 kernel to determine if the issue is with SKAS?
Tony

I had a similar problem a few weeks back when I attempted to run
2.6.12.1 and skas-2.6.12-rc4-v9-pre4. Crashed within 30 minutes or so,
so I reverted back to 2.6.11.11 and skas-v8. I haven't had the time to
narrow down the problem. It's on my to-do list for this week.
Incidentally, I've had kernel stability problems with the last dozen
hosts I've placed online. These machines crash with no console output
after a few days to a few weeks uptime. Haven't been able to track it
down yet, but my hope is whatever it might be is fixed in more recent
kernels. It seems like a hardware or CPU speed and kernel version
issue, since the identical kernel runs flawlessly on other, slower hosts.
I'll post more details in a few days.
-Chris

Peter, has anything changed on this issue? Had problems with 2.6.11 or success
with 2.6.12/2.6.13?
I've not heard any news, plus I've difficulties in imagining what's wrong
here. However, I'm going to think a bit more on this, and on an idea I just
had.

Hi. We have not re-tried a skas kernel later than 2.6.11.
