Some one told me that u-boot has support for the nios 1 apex board. Is this
correct?

This board is not currently supported ... however, it is very easy to
add support using the existing Cyclone- & Stratix-based boards as
the starting point. Also, you would be better-off moving to Nios-II
if you can, since Nios-32 does not get much attention these days.
