Hello,

I heard of many problems with diffrent network cards and DLink Routers. Did 
you try a diffrent network card inside your Linux box? It's probably not IP 
related. Does auto negociation work on both sides? DLink uses Montavista 
Linux for the 504T series. If everything fails, maybe try diffrent Linux 
kernel versions (2.6, 2.4, 2.2,..) on your linux box.

Concerning GPL you could ask D-Link to provide you a GPL source release of 
their router software (I doubt it helps though) since you will need to use 
Montavista to compile it.

PS. A quick check online showed that this router works with Fedora Core 3, 
but there seem to be some issues with IPv6 mapped adresses and the routers DNS.
