Mine is TM4061 NLMi. But i think (i hope) you're right. I even think 
Acer Aspire (or whatever is the other series name, that is written on 
the cd/manual - i don't clearly remember) is similar enough to the 
TravelMate.

I don't really get what you mean, but I guess you're wrong. I used 
them. They seem to be software keys, and Gnome treats them as such. As 
opposed to the brightness control keys (hardware), these are detected 
by `showkey`.

I don't. But of course these keys would control the volume. That's a 
software, not hardware feature, though.

Do they? I doubt that. but if they do, that would make our enigma much 
easier to solve.
