I am not new to linux but I am new to lm-sensors
The sensors.conf file has me completely lost
I have Fedora Core 5 running on a Abit IS7-E w/ Intel 82865PE (MCH) + 82801EB (ICH5) chipset
I installed using "make user" and "make user_install"
added library path to ld.so.conf and ran ldconfig
ran sensor -detect w/the following results
#----cut here----# I2C module optionsalias char-major-89 i2c-dev#----cut here----
To load everything that is needed, add this to some /etc/rc* file:
#----cut here----# I2C adapter driversmodprobe i2c-i801modprobe i2c-isa# I2C chip driversmodprobe eeprommodprobe w83627hf# sleep 2 # optional/usr/local/bin/sensors -s # recommended#----cut here----
I am lost from here as I do not understand the conf file
also along the line it told me to Copy prog/init/lm_sensors.init to /etc/rc.d/init.d/lm_sensors
but there is no /prog dir
help please
Paul

It's ./prog not /prog
If you just press enter to all questions sensors-detect asked you, it should have been done by the script.
Now you can try "service lm_sensors start", and use "sensors".

Yes I hit enter at all prompts when installing
but it did not move the lm sensors file
~]# locate lm_sensors/etc/sysconfig/lm_sensors
~]# service lm_sensors startlm_sensors: unrecognized service
~]# sensorsCan't access procfs/sysfs fileUnable to find i2c bus information; For 2.6 kernels, make sure you have mounted sysfs and libsensorswas compiled with sysfs support! For older kernels, make sure you have done 'modprobe i2c-proc'!

There's a good FAQ
http://www2.lm-sensors.nu/~lm78/cvs/lm_sensors2/doc/lm_sensors-FAQ.html#Section-4_002e20
I have a FC5 and what i do to set up lm_sensors is:
1.Install *libsysfs* to avoid compile error when "make user"
2.Install lm_sensors use "make clean && make user && make user_install"
3.run sensors-detect, press enter for all question :)
4."service lm_sensors start"
5."sensors"
And it works.
Best Regards
Yuan Mu
