new mlmmj maintainer

Hi mlmmj list,

Mads Martin has asked me to take over the position as maintainer of mlmmj.

I have accepted his offer.

He has, in return, promissed to finish subscription moderation soon.

At this time, I do not plan to change the main strategy of the project. Each release will still be simple, secure, and - whenever possible - backwards compatible software. However, it has been almost one full year since the last release. It is my hope that we can obtain shorter release cycles.

As part of your maintainership, would you consider setting up some sort of bug
tracking facility for mlmmj? It would be a lot easier to help out with bugfixes
and such, if iffues were consistently and publicly tracked.

Yes, that is part of my plan. And some sort of patch management.

I registered mlmmj.org a while ago. Perhaps we should start using it for
these things.

Yes, that would be nice.

I expect to talk with mmj over a beer or two after the general assembly of his LUG on Thursday. I might have a more detailed plan after that.

Subscriber moderation was just committed to CVS. I've just been on the
phone with Morten, and we expect 1.2.12-rc1 in a couple of hour.

He'll fold in his Qmail and Digest (happy now lcars? ;) patch as well.

I really appreciate this move by Morten, and since he's been been with
the project since very early 0.x releases, he'll probably do even better
than me :-)

Any MySQL users out there, BTW? ;)

Note that I'm not blaming anybody, I know it eats time to write it and
maintain...

Morten just merged everything, and was just about to create the list of
listtexts missing in various languages compared to english, when his
internet connection broken down.

Tomorrow night, we've made a deal--so expect it there if Murphy wants us
to :-)
