I think he means certification.

The linux/netfilter team hasn't done this (that I know of), but I'm willing to
bet that some product that's really just iptables under the hood.

if anyone is aware of any such certifications it would probably help getting
management types to accept iptables.

icsalabs provides certifications of firewall and security
applications/appliances. They are legit, and so might be the question.

The answer would be no, the process of certification is not light nor not
cheap, I doubt that iptables has been nor will be put up for
certification, though applicanes that relay upon iptables as the core
foundation might well be under process or already have obtained. Though I
can not point to any offhand.

Thanks,

Scratch that.

This guy obviously doesn't exist and it is a ill disguised Ad.

This Email address has shown up on several lists with the same question,
advertising the link below.

He posted the exact same question to the iptables group.

Kill the account, and don't ever buy anything from the link posted.

Relax Gregory. Do you think ICSALabs needs my ad? The message I've sent
clamav list is below:

Exactly, I've asked the same question to Snort forum too. I have been
using linux + iptables + squid +clamav +dansguardian + snort. But my
managers wanted me to find a certificated product. They don't know IT at
all. I believe some people told them a firewall must be certificated.
Their plan is selling their product. To make my managers believe my
firewall is better then any commercial firewall, I need to show the
certificate.

There is no need to be aggressive.

Regards
