Hello Hurky,
Sorry for the delay, please CC the list too. I'm CCing the driver author.

Lets try this:
modprobe i2c-dev
i2cdump -l
This should list your busses, take a number from that which corresponds to bus
above. I will take 0 as example
then do:
i2cdump -y 0 0x18
i2cdump -y 0 0x19
And send it back here. We can take a look what is wrong.

Yep we will ;)

Hi again,
Sorry for the delay, I'm quite busy with other stuff.
Hmm seems I forgot to CC him :/ Anyway here are both mails you send me in private:

Just reply to this mail, leaving all on CC.

So I dont know what could possibly do the address shift by one? Are you sure
that bus electrical condition is OK? Have you possibility to measure the bus
with oscilloscope to check the signal integrity?
It seems the bus will lock after a while and this is the reason why the driver
does not detect the chip. The chip ID should be at offset 0xff and 0xfe.
Have you any chance to use some parallel port adapter? Like one described in the
Documentation/i2c/busses/i2c-parport driver?
Maybe it would be worth to try out with the adapter first.
Rudolf

Hi,
I just saw your (Rudolf Marek) recent e-mail (in this thread) which was also
cc'ed to me and the earlier post relating to this driver:
http://lists.lm-sensors.org/pipermail/lm-sensors/2007-February/018784.html
I apologize but currently I don't have any time to spend on the changes you
suggested. I guess I have to orphan this driver/patch for now. I would be
glad if somebody else could get it in a state for mainline inclusion.
Kind regards,
Ch. Scheurer
