Hi,
after the OpenPrinting Meeting in Tokyo
https://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/LFJapanSymposiumTokyo2007
we have agreed on a time line for the common printing dialog:
End of November (not fulfilled): Manufacturers comment on the current
design of the dialog
(http://www.mmiworks.net/eng/publications/labels/openPrinting.html)
December: First draft of dialog spec
January: Finishing of dialog design. The design should not only contain
how the dialog looks like but also extensions for PPD files and Foomatic
as needed.
February: Final spec
End of February; Kick-off meeting for the coding of the dialog: The
dialog designer group of OpenUsability meets with developers from GNOME,
KDE, Trolltech, GTK, ...
The Linux Foundation sponsors a student to work together with Peter
Sikking, for starting immediately.
The Linux Foundation also supports the meeting in February,

The guys from the japanese printer manufacturers. As I see the situation
now we better do not think about a draft of the spec this year.

Should we better simply take a break in December and go on where we left
off in January and then have the meeting by the end of March, so
everything moved to one month later?
Let's have the meeting in Berlin than, perhaps at Trolltech (Kurt, can
you talk with the guys at Trolltech).
Do you think, this is a better time line? If not, please make a suggestion.
