Hi,

I just started a wiki page to collect our information we discuss here

http://elinux.org/Android_on_OMAP

Any corrections and extensions are welcome!

Anyone know how hard getting Android into the OE build system would be?

The only public source code image wise is the goldfish kernel. I added
that to Poky and was able to run Poky images inside the android
emulator:

http://svn.o-hand.com/view/poky/trunk/meta-extras/conf/machine/android-goldfish.conf?rev=3143&view=auto
http://svn.o-hand.com/view/poky/trunk/meta-extras/packages/linux/linux-android-goldfish_2.6.23-rc20.bb?rev=3144&view=auto

Since Android is a binary release other than this, I'm not sure what
else you want to do with OE?

Regards,

Richard

Maybe extracted goldfish patches (e.g. for /dev/binder) applied to
linux*_2.6.2*.bb?

I'm not sure how hard it would be, but as others have noted, it is not
straight forward. There are a couple of threads on the OMAP list where
they discuss "gory details".

Ah, I was thinking Android was an open source GPE/OPIE style front end
to a standard Linux kernel/environment. It's actually some wacky
"open" Java API running on a Linux kernel. Thanks for the replies,
anyway. :)
