I would like to implement this, but I don't know which fonction to use :
LOOP START
begin acquire
some long stuf... (about 1-2 seconds)
copy buffer to ram or into file
LOOP END

It's been a while since I was there so I haven't got any links, but
there used to be sample programs showing how to do exactly this on the
alsa web site, http://www.alsa-project.org.
