Thanks for your contribution. I've added it to the wiki:

Yes thanks, can you perhaps also send us the output of the dmidecode
command, we plan to automatically match motherboards and config files in
the future based on their dmi identification strings.
Thanks & Regards,
Hans

Hi,
the last line in this config file is repeated twice.
ignore fan12
Best regards!

Good catch. Romain, I guess the first one is supposed to be "ignore
fan11"?
Also, there's this note:
# 1) as of linux 2.4.21, temp6 is read by lm-sensors but doesn't actually
# seem to exist in the chip (?), so an error is displayed...
Given that the w83793 driver doesn't exist for Linux 2.4, I guess you
really mean "as of linux 2.6.21"? That's a bit surprising though, as
this driver didn't change in kernel 2.6.21 as far as I can see.
My experience with the W83793 chip on SuperMicro motherboards, is that
a BIOS update can make temp6 appear (or disappear, I guess.) The w83793
driver does only create sysfs files for enable temperature channels, so
when temp6 is disabled, the temp6* sysfs files are missing. Old
versions of "sensors" didn't expect this, it was fixed in lm-sensors
2.10.2.

Hi Hans,
what particular strings are going to use for this matching in the
future? Would prefer to get the whole text dump from dmidecode?
Best regards!
Daniel.

In attachment, the dmidecode result for the Supermicro boards I
currently have access to.

Yes, sorry for the typo. I've done those files a while ago and didn't
check them again before posting, sorry.

Bad wording ; my meaning was it had the problem in the kernel I was
using at the time, 2.6.21, had the problem. But the next quote solve the
real problem.

... and guess what? Debian-stable includes 2.10.1 ... So I guess that is
the problem, my config file should be updated to mention the fact in the
wiki (which is still uneditable, not even the sandbox... anyway to get
access to the motherboard/supermicro stuff so I can update them myself ?)

Already done...

Blame it on the spammers. I can create a wiki account for you though,
that's fairly simple. Just send the file generated by:
htdigest -c rdolbeau-passwd lm-sensors/i2c rdolbeau
(or whatever login you want instead of rdolbeau) to me _in private_ and
I'll create the account for you. If you intend to become a regular
contributor of libsensors configuration files, that would make a lot of
sense.
Thanks,
