Hello.
I have got myself
THIS
02:06.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5416
802.11a/b/g/n Wireless PCI Adapter (rev 01)
Subsystem: D-Link System Inc Device 3a6b
Flags: bus master, 66MHz, medium devsel, latency 168, IRQ 16
Memory at effe0000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
Capabilities: [40] #80 [0000]
Kernel driver in use: ath9k
Kernel modules: ath9k
AND THIS
http://www.dlink.co.uk/?go=jN7uAYLx/oIJaWVUDLYZU93ygJVYKuJXStvhLPG3yV3oWIh2g6ltbNlwaaRp7jUkFj2onGQTo48EANrwnfKifhMVve7IbIGxFde18TYNkA==
so shouldbe compatible.
AP is patched to version 2.10
wifi module is from kernel version 2.6.27.7
moment i disable g/a/b icant see card anymore, no matter what i do, i
can't see 300mb speed on it...
it makes me believe, no 802.11n is working.
do i have to configure software in some magical way?
i did try to change modulation to n only on card and i get for example:
localhost linux # iwconfig wlan0 modu auto
Error for wireless request "Set Modulation" (8B2F) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Operation not supported.
localhost linux # iwconfig wlan0 modu 802.11g
Error for wireless request "Set Modulation" (8B2F) :
invalid argument "802.11g".
localhost linux # iwlist modulation
lo no modulation information.
sit0 no modulation information.
eth0 no modulation information.
wmaster0 no modulation information.
wlan0 unknown modulation information.
eth1 no modulation information.
What should i do to enable 802,11n?
Thanks!
Dmitri

2.6.27 didn't get aggregation so you will need a newer kernel to be
able to reap benefits of it (at least 2.6.29 which is not even in RC
release yet). One option is to use compat-wireless:
