Nouveau wiki translations

Hi all,

it seems that the translations in the Nouveau wiki have been rotting for
some time. Many translated pages even have a note saying they are not
up to date, which makes me think they are not going to be updated anymore
at all.

I am planning to remove all translation links from FrontPage and FAQ.
I will not remove the pages themselves. If someone wants to come back
and actually maintain a translation, please do so. You can then add
the proper links back.

For MmioTrace I have already done this.

I may do this for more pages, when I find them, unless the translation
appears maintained.

Let me know of any objections. The CC's contain the addresses from the
Translation_Team page.

The latest updates to *any* translated pages are:
- FeatureMatrix-fr, 3 months ago
- FrontPage-ru, MmioTraceHowto-ru, 5 months ago
- IrcChatLogs-fr, 5 months ago
- FrontPage-fr 6 months ago

The fact, that we have not noticed anyone being yet mislead by the
outdated translations IMHO suggest that they are not really needed.
Are there other opinions?

Translators, please subscribe to the pages you translate from, so
you are notified about changes.

Hi,

ATM, I don't have time to update french translation nor, it seems, 
others french translator so I'm fine with removing link to french pages.
It can be readded at some point in the future if needed.

I did not think you would manage to spin my comment 180°. Congrats on this, I must say I am
impressed.

Now since MJules agrees for his translations to be removed (removing the link is
equivalent to removing the translation in terms of visibility), I guess
my objections no longer have a foundation.

I think it is a bad move in terms of communication with our potential users, while it brings us
absolutely nothing to carry out this removal. Except maybe a bit of pleasure for you, so go ahead :)

I'm fine with removing most translated contents, except TiNDCs, as those
have inmutable content and are more end-user oriented (or at least to
lurkers), while the other contents are more developer oriented and these
need some minimal english skills to work on a project like this.

But, having said that, I haven't translated any other content myself
than TiNDCs, so it may sound unfair for those who have done the work.

I'll probably try to translate the last TiNDC this christmas holidays
though.

Hi guys,

it's been a year since my last call (below) for updating translations.

Unless anyone objects, I propose, that all translation pages are
eligible for removal if they have not been properly updated within
two weeks since the original page was updated.

TiNDCs are an exception, they are not live content, and they should
be up-to-date anyway, by definition.

mwk already did some good job on removing outdated pages.

The most recent translation update is for the FrontPage more than a
month ago for Spanish, and the page is syntactically broken.

Notice, that all translations of FrontPage would be in danger
right now.

This may sound harsh, but is it any good to have a translation,
which has a disclaimer "check the English page first to see if this
is outdated"? Or in most cases, does not have the disclaimer and
is badly out of date.
