Hi Balbin,

I am very interested in the memory control of container,
but I don't know where I can find the patches to push the
functionalities and how to use the codes via some example
or use cases.

Could you give me some advices?

Thanks,

Ian

Because it has much relationship with global memory managenet,
it's mainatained in -mm kernel.

See Documentaion/controllers/memory.txt and
    Documentaion/controllers/memcg_test.txt
If not enough, please advice me to improve above 2.

Relatead source code is
  mm/memcontrol.c
  mm/page_cgroup.c
  include/linux/memcontrol.h

The libvirt mailing list is the best place to ask. I know that
libvirt has recently added support for the memory controller.

hmm... so many patches need to be patched in current kernel mainstream?

I am now using the kernel version:

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/daveh/linux-2.6-lxc.git

It seems the linux-2.6-lxc has not been updated for a couple of months
because I got "Already up-to-date" after running "git-pull". So, I am
wondering how many patches need to be patched in my kernel? all?
Is there any kernel that has been patched for experiment?

The memory controller is in mainline, unless you want all the latest
features, you should just be able to get it working from mainline

What do you want to experiment with? You might want to look at the lxc
status to see what is in mainline already.

Perhaps you can try the net-next-2.6 kernel version which is the future
2.6.29.

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next-2.6.git

AFAICS, it should have everything you need in terms of isolation and
control group.
