Hi there,

I see that reiserfsprogs 3.6.21 have been announced [0] and I wonder if
there's a public scm (git?) repo available for this. Also, in the README
one can see that there are now two forks: 3.6.20(.1) and 3.6.21 - will
they be merged at some point in time again? If not, are they maintained,
or is 3.6.20.1 "finished" and development goes on in 3.6.21?

Oh, and one more question pops in: since the namesys website seems to be
gone now, is there a need for reiserfs.wiki.kernel.org or something?

Thanks,
Christian.

Not yet.
I'll put it to kernel.org/pub/scm/ soon.
It will contain only stable brunch developed
by Jeff Mahoney.

At least it should be merged, but I can not guarantee that it will be
merged..

3.6.20.1 is not developed, but Vladimir Saveliev
promised to consider complaints a yeah ago.

Yup, it would be fine:
many people don't know that reiserfs has a mount option "data=journal".

Edward.

For Reiserfs, R4, or both?

Hi Christian,
Hi Edward,

there seems to be a FAQ / information site under development at forumbase.de
(computerbase.de/forum)

there are also 2 threads at forums.gentoo.org mentioned,

so for those wanting to contribute to this wiki they don't have to start from
scratch

as always: thanks a lot, Edward, and the other contributors to reiserfs' /
reiser4' continued development

Regards

Mat

That's good news. If you/Jeff decide to put the development branch in a
public SCM tree as well, I'm sure some lunatics out there will be happy to
do some testing :)

Hm, 3.6.20.1 is about "improving of overall reiserfsck performance". If
the changes are not trivial to merge and there's not really a need for it
(I don't see many "reiserfsck is too slow" requests on this list).

Good example for a FAQ. And perhaps some of the (archived)
in-depth documentation from Namesys can find its place there. Should I
contact the kernel.org webmasters to get this set up?

Christian.
