Registration
------------
Not many people registered up to now. Please register as soon as
possible if you did not do so yet, so that I have a feeling who actually
will come. If you registered for the LF Summit and did not mention that
you want to attend the OpenPrinting Summit, please post here. Post here
also if you registered for the LF Summit and got rejected by the
organization team of the LF Summit.
Participation by Phone
----------------------
If you will participate by call-in, please post here. So I know who I
can expect to call in. If you call in only for a part of the session,
please tell to which sessions. You are not required by that to call in
only on the specified sessions. You can call in whenever you like. The
conference phones are set up during the whole meeting.
Note that AFAIK call-in participation is only available for the
OpenPrinting Summit, not the other sessions of the LF Collaboration Summit.
Presentations
-------------
Please post here if you want to give a presentation. Upload your
presentation as PDF file to the OpenPrinting Summit web site and link it
from the appropriate session in the agenda.
It would be great to do this until March 31 so that we can talk about it
on the planning conference call. Please upload the presentation until
April 3 at the latest to give the atendees some preparation time for the
discussion. You can re-upload if you have updates.
Do not hesitate to give a presentation when you only participate by
call-in. We will show your slides while you are talking on the phone.
This worked great with Mike Sweet's presentation on the Printing Summit
in Lexington in 2006.

We (me and Kate at m+mi works, Jan and Fabian at relevantive)
are working hard so I can give a cool presentation at the summit.
We are preparing a usability test of the common printing dialog
which will run the weekend before the summit. The preparation
of the test already triggered a redesign of the dialog, which
I will present. Then there is the test itself, where I hope
to show some video fragments of the test (sound amplification
would be good) and the no doubt valuable outcome of the test.
like last summits I will aim fir a presentation of half an hour,
but just like last summits, it will take more than an hour,
questions and all.

Or how about using mumble or something similar like teamtalk? No need for
people to sign up for anything and all they would need is a password for the
mumble session along with info on how to connect to the server both of which
could be made available here.

Can mumble connect to a usual phone? We have a phone conference hub for
calling with a ususal phone. We will dial into this hub with the Polycom
to connect the conference room. We planned to start a conference call on
Skype where one "participant" is the conference hub, so that the Skype
conference is bridged to the phone conference. Is it possible to do the
same thing with mumble?

All mumble needs is an alsa input (which for a normal user would be connected
to a mic) and an alsa output (for a normal user this would be connected to a
speaker or a set of headphones). I have not looked at a newer polycom unit
but I do remember them having both audio in (for more mics and other audio
sources) and audio out jacks but this may also depend on the model. These
could be attached to a computer near the polycom with a set of RCA cables.
This would connect the polycom line out to computer line in (this is located
on the interface module of most polycoms) and polycom mic/line in (this is
probably labeled as AUX IN) to computer line out. Then mumble would be setup
to use those alsa ports and it should work (IE this created a conference room
to mumble bridge at the polycom). But I don't have a polycom sitting here so
I can't test it myself. And I think that this is something that someone has
to setup in advance and have everything sorted out and tested to make sure
everything is OK.
So if someone already knows how to setup Skype to act as a conference bridge
then this would also be OK. Setting up a Skype account is free and setting up
the software is simple. Making calls to another skype account is also free.

Angela, do our Polycoms have audio connectors? Do we have appropriate
audio cables to connect a laptop to them, so that when running a VoIP
program on the laptop that this provides a second access facility for
the conference?
