I'm in that same boat... It was 22 years ago! I was copying 25+
back then. Rx now is abt 10wpm (with 25wpm char spacing). TX is
25+ now after a lot of practice and I'm working on the RX actively.
I bought an AEA MorseMachine3 at the Seaside, OR, hamfest and it's
hooked to my bencher within easy access of my armchair. Watch out
on the CW bands 'cuz I'm a'comin!

P.S. I still love my Bencher!

I saw a posting for a MFJ device which translates CW to letters.

Is there a sound card-based app to do the same for Linux?

Thanks Pino and Curt - forgot about that!

I think I have a version that works under Puppy Linux
around here somewhere.

The 20WPM for my Extra has long-since faded for lack
of use. :-/

I haven't tried, but bet it would have problems with my 70-year old
fist and a hand key :^)

About the only time I use my hand key anymore is to key my amp for
tuning. Neither man nor machine could decode it.
