I just opened an IRC channel for this project at OFTC: #hail
At present, since Project Hail is under heavy development, this is
largely a developer channel.
Apparently the FreeNode registration process is just a bear, not
automated at all, and highly personality-centric. The channel
registration backlog is thousands-long, and turnaround couple take _months_.
Life is too short to deal with IRC admins who think they're gods.
