Does anyone have any alternate suggestions? Issues with the Astrid are
the breakfast price seems to creep up and the wifi costs money and all
the open access point have gone away.
On the other hand, two years ago the bar across the street was closed.

This is generic for most hotels, except for the more expensive ones.
I think Astrid seems the de-facto OE hotel for some.
Any discussion here will probably not lead to more concensus, as
typically only more and more options come up :-)

Which one has a decent parking?
Last year, the one I had, had a very cramped and crowded parking in
the cellar. Quite inconvenient. Forgot the name.
(tho if I recall correclty they had free wifi)

That was Le Meridien Brussels, which is just opposite the Gare Centrale.
I think I'm going to give FOSDEM a miss this time but, if I was going
back, I would probably try to stay in Le Meridien again.
The year before that, I stayed in the Marriott which is just across the
street from the bourse. That was fine too but I think it was a bit more
expensive.

beer event, but closer to the fossdem and have free wifi(comes with the
room, you have to ask for it tough).
