GRUB Source code Info

Hello all,
I am new to grub bootloaders.
Very first time i am working on a x86 based embedded system.
I want to activate seven segment display during the GRUB to display
some boot info.
Please let me know how can i add and configure a new driver in GRUB.

Also any hints on source code walk through for GRUB will be helpful, i
am interested to learn GRUB in details.

Have a look at grub-core/Makefile.core.def and hello/hello.c. It should
be self-explanatory.
