Hi there,

Has anyone ever think about adding support for satellite modems? Things
like global start, Iridium, etc...
Some of these modems offer specific features (special data packet
service), but they usually provide SMS, voicecall and internet (ppp).
They usually utilize standard and enhanced Hayes AT commands.
For example, Globalstar claims "Crystal clear voice quality: Superior
CDMA digital satellite quality", so it should mean that they are usable
with oFono cdma API.

So In short, it seems to me that these modems are very similar to GSM
ones, but yet they have some differences as well (no SIM card, different
radio settings, ...)

Regards,
Chris
