Yes I know, but I recommend either use a newer kernel or use an operating system that was written for teaching like: http://pdos.csail.mit.edu/6.828/2011/xv6.html I don't want to imagine how hard could be compiling a 0.01 kernel with GCC 4.5 and find a rootfs that is suitable for it.
