OK makes sense again.  I was getting confused (though that's easy for me to
do).  Yeah, no error if hw calculates recv_ecc^calc_ecc == 0.  Should still
work, though, if I'm willing to take the performance hit of processing the
"error" and reading out hw ecc on every read.
