I added some information to page.
In 2009 I printed 2500 A5 size flyers. I have 100-200 of them at home as
I used them during SECW/ELC-E same year.
Also as alternative to Astrid hotel I suggest checking Saint Nicolas
one. Same district so close to beer event and to bus stop for fosdem.

Hi everyone,
things are starting slowly but steadily.
Alex and Hening are going to help manning the booth. Philip organises
table cloths each with an OE logo on it.
Other topics need attentions though:
We still have no idea where the poster is that we used at last year's
LinuxTag? Florian, is assume it is with you?
Henning also brings some stand hardware (router et al). Can you add what
exactly what it'll be and say something about the number of flyers left?
(I assume that there still flyers in our Berlin office.)
Regarding the device tags (which would be extremely cool and we talked
about this for years now) I've no idea. Has someone access to a nice (=
portable) label printing device?
Any news regarding OE people who want come to FOSDEM?
All the best,
Robert

FYI I'll be there, and will help out on the stand when possible. I can also
bring hardware although I don't have any specific demos prepared.
All things going to plan I will also be speaking on the topic of OE-Core, the
Yocto Project and layers.

500 or more at least... should be enough for FOSDEM. I will take them with me as
well as our new stand box with TFT, multiplugs, lights and some more useful
equipment.

I plan to be there.

There is one in the contrib/artwork folder of the OE repo.

If you could print a bunch (~10) of blanko tags we could still label
them manually (via pen) at the event. Not the most professional looking
but at least we can show the name of a device (+ we know that something
is missing when there is no device next to a tag ;) ).
All the best,
Robert

What about something like these two?

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12130167/Generic%20Tag.pdf
Maybe 10-off A5 of the second with the white background?
Do you need anything else on there?

Hi Alex,
sorry this might come late. Hopefully not too late.
I'd prefer the blueish one because our table cloths are white. ;)

I'll see if I can sort out some of both in case the pen looks a bit
dodgy on the
coloured background. I'm starting to think a career change to a
"creative" role
may be in order ;)

Hey guys,
It's my first time going to FOSDEM, so I don't know how it works out
exactly. I'm not an Openembedded "master", but have been using it for
a while and can try to explain to people what it is and why it's
useful. So, hopefully I can help a bit with the stand too.
As for bringing hardware, what is usually needed here? I have some
evaluation boards with different ARM SoCs, some with an LCD and touch
screen that can run Angstrom and QT embedded demo apps, but nothing
very impressive to show. Would that be useful?
Regards and I hope to see you there,
Radoslav

That's great and you surely can help. I am also not using OE daily but I
was working long enough for it to be able to tell conference attendees
what it can ( and why its way cooler than the competition. :P ).
As it is your first time visit I honestly ask you not to spend too much
time at our booth (a few hours is fine though) as FOSDEM is a really
intense and vibrant event. That does not mean we don't want your help
(quite the contrary) but I want to prevent that you'll get the feeling
of having missed something. FOSDEM has a lot of superb presentations,
interesting people you'd like to talk to etc.
Fair enough, meeting us OE people is probably also part of the bill. :)

A good idea for a device might be:
- looks interesting
- you can tell about the device/OS
- it can withstand transport (not too fragile)
All the best,

Hi all,
first of all, thanks for all the replies so far. It looks like we're
having a well manned stand this year. :)
For those who are available for manning stand add your name to the first
list on this page:
http://wiki.openembedded.org/index.php/Fosdem_2012
Also add which day you'd prefer to help out or what other time
constraints you have (a bunch of people usually have to leave early on
Sunday).
Having around 3-4 people at the two tables at one time is fine. Those
helping out.
When the event finishes (usually 4-6pm on Sunday) it is usually
necessary to clean up the stand and (sometimes) bring the table to
another room or fold and lean them against the wall (methinks that was
the case last year).
There is some space under the tables to take your backpack, jackets etc.
Although we can also take your laptop, purse and smartphone please
remember that we cannot guarantee 100% vigilance all the time. So employ
common sense and all is fine. :)
Last but not least: There are still some unclaimed tasks on the page
(see above). Would be cool if we could find a solution.
All the best,
Robert

If people want to send me details of the tags required I don't mind printing
out some colour tags. Would need to have input on the design as like most
on the list I imagine I'm a tech, not a creative ;)
Am flying so can't assist with displays and such unfortunately.
Regards,
Alex
