Ubuntu 11.10 installation issue on Centos 5 dom-0

Hi,

I have a centos 5 installed Xen hardware node and running more vm's on this
and managing my solusvm control panel. I just added a latest ubuntu 11.10
64bit ISO to install this for a vm.

When I try to install this ISO on a VM through VNC I am seeing the error
message as,

Error while running 'modprobe -v xenbus_probe_frontend'

If I continue to install after this error the hard disk not found to
proceed further.

Can anyone help with this?

I think I saw this once, too. But then got sidetracked before looking any
deeper. IIRC it was trying to register a console and failed. Sorry I currently
only remember vaguely. Don't think I saw it on EC2 instances but when
experimenting with HVM through liblirt. But I need to look back into that
before being able to offer better help.

Hm, maybe I remember now: though this was related to using the virtual kernel
package:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/944582

There was a typo in the packaging which made the xen-kbdfront module go into
the extra modules package instead of the main kernel package. This is waiting
to pass testing to get released. In the meantime you could install
linux-image-extra-virtual. Reason for the split is that the kernel package
tries to be as small as possible and every other kernel module goes into extra.
