Hi,

I just bitbaked the core-image-minimal from the source.
I would like to know which image I should be building if I want "vivante_drv.so" as a part of my rootfs.
In general, how should I determine which image is needed for the library I am looking for?

I am adding the list admin, from the Yocto Project, in the Cc; this
kind of disclaimer is unacceptable in my opinion but I don't know what

As far as I know these disclaimers have no legal impact in the United
States of America and are just a harmless waste of bandwidth. They may
have some effect in other countries though. The expectation is that
anything posted to a public list is not confidential. All Yocto Project
lists are published on the public web and mirrored to usenet. I would
prefer to just ignore these disclaimers.

The Yocto Project does not maintain a policy for or against the types
of standard confidentiality clauses that organizations often place
wholesale into employees' signatures. It seems that no amount of
education will convince them that these statements are useless and, as
Michael says, they have no legal impact in any country as far as I
know.  Perhaps we should issue a statement that all of our lists are
publicly archived and thus completely not confidential.

In any case, though, there are no community standards to break, and
I'm not too concerned about the few bytes of added bandwidth so no
worries there - just be aware that the list is not private.

Hi Otavio,



There is some confusion. We don't need xorg server. We need Vivante_drv.so i.e. vivante user-space driver compatible with xorg 13 and above, which doesn't seem to build with core-image-x11.

When startx tries to load the driver (generated from the build), we get ABI version mismatch error between xorg server and vivante_drv.so.



Xorg server version:13 (what we intend to use) OR 14:as the build generates, which we can think of using If need be.

Whereas, Vivante driver:ABI version is 11.

Hence the vesion mistatch!!

Are you using Yocto Project or cooking something yourself? In case you
are using YP, which branch?

vivante_drv.so is generated in core-image-x11 as it is build in
http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/meta-fsl-arm/tree/recipes-graphics/xorg-driver/xf86-video-imxfb-vivante_3.5.7-1.0.0-alpha.2.bb

So I fail to see how it can mismatch. Except if you are doing
something weird ;-)
