problems with Getting started with Yocto on Wandboard

Hi there,

I'm new to yocto and tried following the above mentioned "getting started" and I'm now running into the problem that I can't get the linux source when running bitbake. I get following error:

NOTE: Preparing runqueue
NOTE: Executing SetScene Tasks
NOTE: Executing RunQueue Tasks
WARNING: Failed to fetch URL git://github.com/wandboard-org/linux.git;branch=wandboard_imx_3.10.17_1.0.1_ga, attempting MIRRORS if available
ERROR: Fetcher failure: Fetch command failed with exit code 128, output:
Cloning into bare repository '/home/theuser/fsl-community-bsp/downloads//git2/github.com.wandboard-org.linux.git'...

fatal: unable to connect to github.com:
github.com[0: 192.30.252.130]: errno=Connection timed out


ERROR: Function failed: Fetcher failure for URL: 'git://github.com/wandboard-org/linux.git;branch=wandboard_imx_3.10.17_1.0.1_ga'. Unable to fetch URL from any source.
ERROR: Logfile of failure stored in: /home/theuser/fsl-community-bsp/build/tmp/work/wandboard_quad-poky-linux-gnueabi/linux-wandboard/3.10.17-r0/temp/log.do_fetch.30595
ERROR: Task 73 (/home/theuser/fsl-community-bsp/sources/meta-fsl-arm-extra/recipes-kernel/linux/linux-wandboard_3.10.17.bb, do_fetch) failed with exit code '1'

I can download the zipped sources or clone the git repo manually (with http:// not "git://" link, probably due to company firewall) but I can't find the spot where to tell bitbake that it should skip the do_fetch for this.
How can I solve this ?

git config --global url."https://".insteadOf git://
