Hi,

I wonder how to get a PCM identifier that would be stable if you
reboot or plug/unplug sound cards in a random order.

I want to be able to store a sound card configuration and be able to
restore it without relying on the card index or the device name,
because if you have two times the same sound card it is not going to
be unique.

I'm not an expert in hardware ids, yet I imagine that we could use the
hardware serial number or equivalent?

Thank you very much,
