I've tryed to use LVM in my domU, but the "vgdisplay" says:

/proc/misc: No entry for device-mapper found

huh? Did you check for device-mapper in dmesg?

Most people use LVM in dom0.

I use it. Make sure the kernel you're using as domU has support for
device-mapper/LVM (the default kernels from xen don't).
